
James M. Wells, DDS, PA
Dr. James "Mac" Wells is originally from Raleigh, North Carolina. He attended Broughton High School and graduated from the McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Dr. Wells received a B.S. degree in Biology and Chemistry from Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia and then attended the University of North Carolina where he was awarded his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.
Dr. Wells has invested many hours in continuing education to keep his dental practice on the leading edge of state-of-the-art dentistry. For example, Dr. Wells was the first dentist in Morehead City to have CEREC computer designed and fabricated veneers and one appointment crowns. He invites you to come by and see the latest technology including laser cavity detection, color intraoral cameras, Zoom! Whitening, and computer assisted TMJ and dental occlusal equilibration!
Dr. Wells is actively involved in the community having served on his church's vestry board for three terms and two terms as a Carteret County Commissioner (1996-2002). He has also served on the Carteret General hospital Board of Directors and, since 1996, currently serves as chairman of the Carteret County Board of Health.
When not at his practice, Dr. Wells enjoys fishing, archery hunting, and spending time with his family. Dr. Wells is married to Sharon Stimpson Wells of Morehead City. They have two children, a daughter, Catherine Olander, who is married and lives in Morehead City, and a son, McSherry, who is currently working on becoming a dentist!
Michael C. Farmer, DMD
Dr. Farmer grew up in western North Carolina in the small town of Old Fort. He attended McDowell High School before spending four years at Wake Forest University where he majored in Chemistry and received a minor in Biology. While a senior at Wake Forest, he studied in Madrid, Spain for four months in a study abroad program.
Dr. Farmer then decided to pursue his dental education at the University of Alabama-Birmingham School of Dentistry which he completed in May of 2008. While attending UAB School of Dentistry, he was involved in mission trips to Honduras and Nicaragua.
Dr. Farmer joined the practice as an associate dentist in the summer of 2008 after graduating from UAB School of Dentistry and relocating to Morehead City. He is a member of the American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Society, and the Fifth District Dental Society. Dr. Farmer enjoys outdoor activities such as golf and fishing as well as spending time with friends and family. He looks forward to getting to know each patient on an individual basis and becoming involved in the local community!
